Relax
On one of the many decks or outdoor areas around the property, or soak in the spa pool nestled in the bush overlooking the water.

Walking
locally around the tracks on the island, approx. 25 minutes walk to the Lagoons on the eastern side of the island.

Fishing
Local fishing off the wharf or rocks, best time at dawn or dusk. Snapper and kawhai are the predominant fish caught locally. There is a bait net available for those wishing to catch their own bait, normally piper. Local fishing charters, normally 3-4 hours, pick up and drop off from the wharf available by a selection of charter operators. Local expertise, equipment and bait provided, a great way to start the week and fill the fridge and freezer with fresh fish. Deep sea fishing available normally a full day outing, pick up and drop off from the wharf.

Diving
Island Shuttle @ Dive and Paihia Dive are both good operators that will pick up and drop off from the wharf. Dive locally for scallops or crayfish, or dive the wrecks of HMNZS Canterbury or the Rainbow Warrior. Learn to dive during your stay, organize with one of the operators to suit. Hire equipment is available.

Sailing / Cruising

Kayaking
Three kayaks are available, these are ocean sit-on-top kayaks that give you peace of mind and ease of use. Fantastic coastline with clear water to kayak either staying close to the house or kayak around the island, approx. 45 minutes. At half to full tide it is easy to cut through the lagoons from the ocean side.

Dolphins
Dolphins often frolic or feed in the bay in front of the house. Watch from the island or take one of the kayaks out and join them close up. Alternatively there are dolphin and eco tours available throughout the bay.

Land based activities
Requires water taxi to Paihia or Russell.
